The Headwaters Equine Leadership Group is pleased to announce that our 2014 Signature Artist, Amanda Melinz will be painting one of the Headwaters Parade of Horses statues LIVE at the Can-Am All Breed Equine Expo, April 3rd-5th!
The Can-Am All Breed Equine Expo, is a horse fair and country lifestyle show presented at the Markham Fairgrounds (10801 McCowan Road in Markham, Ontario).
Come meet Amanda and see her bring this magnificent sculpture to life!
About Amanda Melinz:
Amanda has earned a degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in contemporary Oil Painting from the University of Ottawa. Since 1997 she has been working in the Equine Industry which has provided numerous opportunities to travel and work overseas, and in various placements across North America.
Only recently turning to horses as subject matter, she is finding new inspiration in exploring the equine as a theme. Amanda works out of a studio located in the Hockley hills focusing on large scale oil paintings and smaller encaustic works. Her style is often referred to as ‘Abstract Realism’, using vivid colour and intense exaggerated brush strokes and texture to suggest a deeper meaning on the subject matter.
Amanda’s painting Show Horse (pictured above), was the Grand Prize winning artwork of the 2014 Headwaters Horse Country Signature Art Contest.
