Meet Follow Your Dreams
The horse is covered in some of the beautiful flowers that can be found growing in the gardens of the Headwaters Region. Blended into the painting is some hand rendered typography. The messages are in the three official languages of the PanAm2015 games, English, French and Spanish. They say; Follow your dreams. For the love of horses. Hello and Welcome.
My hope is that the flowers and words will present a unique and beautiful expression of joy and encouragement to all the athletes and a warm welcome to all the visitors from the 41 nations who have come to Canada to see the games. Flowers are often given as a universal symbol to celebrate the achievement of an ultimate goal, or in appreciation for meeting a demanding challenge of any kind, my wish is that they will also reflect the love and appreciation we have for our equine partners.
About Marie Bartholomew:
Marie is a painter who specializes in large-scale floral paintings and equine portraits. The acrylic flower paintings are detailed studies featuring one individual flower, or compound flower group, which fill each large canvas with rich colour and detail showing off the spectacular beauty of each individual blossom. She paints flowers from the gardens of many avid gardeners who share her love and appreciation for the delightful wonder of flowers.
She is also an equine portrait artist who finds great joy working with her paints to faithfully capture the distinct qualities of each magnificent animal. Her portraits are done in a realistic style using acrylic paint. Every painting expresses the way she sees the unique spirit and beauty of each of these much loved equine partners.
