The Township of East Garafraxa is a rural Community located west of Orangeville. It is a home to the Cataract Trailway that travels through the town, many different artists, small hamlets , and farmers fruits and vegetables. East Garafraxa is a township that is focused on enhancing the growth of the region but also maintaining heritage, community, and the well being of the land at the same time.

The 47km trailway section of the Canadian Pacific railway also know as the Elora-Cataract Trailway passing through East Garafraxa. The railway is now used for hikers, bikers, and snowmobilers as a trail. There are many access points to the trailway with some having stores near by to stop for a snack or refreshment. The trailway gives people an opportunity and location to get active and join in on some winter and summer recreational activities.
