The Headwaters Parade of Horses is a whimsical and unique series of life-sized outdoor horse sculptures featuring 25+ fiberglass horses transformed through the creativity of talented artisans. They will be displayed in prominent locations throughout the Headwaters Region during the TORONTO 2015 Pan American Games.
The first Headwaters Parade of Horses statue was transformed live at the Can-Am All Breed Equine Expo by the Headwaters Horse Country 2014 Signature Artist, Amanda Melinz. Amanda’s working title for the statue was “Lucky Buck”, referencing buckskin. Visitors to the event were asked to participate in the creative process by writing the name of the horse that has been the biggest inspiration to them on the statue. “Many people were emotional thinking about that one horse that meant so much to them”, said Melinz. “Hopefully the horse will be a good luck charm to our Canadian team!”
