Proudly sponsored by the Town of Erin and Budson’s. Our equine series consists of three hands-on workshops that will provide practical tips new information, ideas and choices regarding your horse’s health, feed, stable and pasture management.
Week one (Feb. 8, 2018) topic includes health and end of life choices for your aging horse. Guest Speaker: Gayle Ecker, Director, Equine Guelph/University of Guelph.
Week two (Feb. 22, 2018) features tips and information on how to prepare your horse and pasture for Spring. Nutrition and pasture management. Guest Speakers: Alf Budweth, owner of Budson’s, and Mark Eastman, Credit Valley Conservation; Healthy Lands/Healthy Horses Program.
Week three (March 8, 2018) is a look at equine hoof health and a discussion and hands-on demonstration regarding the benefits of barefoot trimming, farrier trimming and shoes, and best health support for healthy hooves. Guest Speakers include: Jessica Fobert, Barefoot Horse Canada, barefoot trimmer and trainer, and Paul Fischbach hot-shoeing farrier and (former) farrier college instructor.
Workshops will be hosted at Budson’s–equine feed and supplements, retail store and horse accessories, located at 93 Main Street in beautiful Erin Village, 7pm-9:30 pm. Workshop guest speakers will include equine professionals from Equine Guelph/University of Guelph, Nutrition Specialists, and Barefoot Horse Canada.
Participants will be invited take part in discussions, hands-on learning and will given useful information, practical advice, tips for implementing what you have learned, at your horse stable. Workshops will include product samples, references, and door-prize draws.
